Star Wars, which first met science fiction fans in 1977, added more information and events to its universe in every new trilogy. Although the books and games were not like that, the universe always focused on the ‘Skywalker’ lineage, the end of an era with the death of the last Skywalker in the last movie. There have always been books, comics, and games that have gone beyond the Skywalker legend, but a major and official breakthrough in this direction has never been done before, at least until yesterday.

Story : The High Republic

The story of the productions related to Star Wars: The High Republic takes place 200 years before the movie ‘The Phantom Menace’, where the legend of Skywalker began. In this period when the Jedi lived its golden age, the Jedi knights served as the right hand of the republic. Called the guardians of peace and justice, the Jedi community faces new villains like Darth Nihil. Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy expresses her thoughts on the new initiative as follows:

We are so excited to be opening up such a rich, fertile era for our authors to explore. We’ll get to see the Jedi in their prime.

Lucasfilm’s publishing creative director Michael Siglain added,

“Star Wars: The High Republic features the Jedi as we’ve always wanted to see them — as true guardians of peace and justice.

“This is a hopeful, optimistic time, when the Jedi and the Galactic Republic are at their height. But of course, into this glorious new era something wicked this way comes.

“This initiative will give readers young and old a new corner of the galaxy to explore through rich, meaningful stories. Plus, readers will learn what scares the Jedi.”
