Tom Holland Says ‘Uncharted’ Starts Filming in Four Weeks

Sony will soon start filming the Uncharted movie based on the popular game series. The star of the movie, Tom Holland, gave important information about the date when the shooting will begin and the story of Uncharted.

Returning to Sony’s snake story, the Uncharted movie will finally come true. Concrete steps are being taken for the film in which Tom Holland plays the role of young Nathan Drake. Holland announced that the filming of the film will begin next month, and the highly anticipated Uncharted film is now officially launched under the direction of Ruben Fleischer.

Tom Holland is currently returning to the the silver screen with the new Pixar movie Onward. In an interview at the premiere of the movie, the famous actor was asked questions about Uncharted. Tom Holland gave the good news that filming will begin in four weeks.

“We start shooting in like four weeks. Mark Wahlberg is going to be amazing as Sully. The stunt department that we have out there in Berlin have done an amazing job already, prepping the stunts, and it’s going to be an exciting one.”

Tom Holland will play young Nathan Drake and Mark Wahlberg will be his trusty friend, mentor Sully. In addition to shooting the film, Holland revealed that it was inspired by the Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End game. Holland added:

“If I’m honest, one of my favorite video games ever is the fourth Uncharted game… Unbelievable. And lots of the inspiration from the film has come from that game in particular. It was interesting, when I sat down with [Sony Pictures Chairman] Tom Rothman and we were talking about video games, and I was like ‘Oh, I’ve just finished Uncharted.’ And he was like ‘Well, why don’t you play Nathan Drake?’ I remember being like, ‘I would do anything to play Nathan Drake. Please, that would be amazing.’”

Following her success in Sony, Venom and Zombieland: Double Tap films, he turned to Ruben Fleischer for his directing chair, and things seem to be on track for now. Although Uncharted’s vision date has not yet been determined, it is expected to come to the cinema in 2021.
